Jesus was born in a manger located in Bethlehem. Since then, he has done so much in so many people's lives. Effects of Social Media Hello I am Zoe C. This week’s topic is about the positive and negative effects of social media. First of all, social media is websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. There are many different things that people do on social media. Some of them can be good, some of them can be bad. Some of the positive effects of social media is that people like to post inspirational and motivational things. Secondly, when someone posts a selfie of themselves, there are people that like to comment on it and say positive things about it. For example, if someone posts a selfie of themselves, the person would say something nice like,”You look pretty!” or “You look gorgeous!” Third, people like to say nice things and welcome people. For example, if someone is new to a social media like Instagram, the person would say,”Welcome to Instagram!” Fourth, it could help bloggers because social media is the most workable and effective communication choice. Lastly, social media also helps businesses grow by putting ads online to support it, which could bring more and more people to their business. Some of the negative effects of social media is that people like to cyberbully someone on social media. Someone could say one mean thing about someone, which could also hurt the person’s feelings and lead to insecurities or self image. Secondly, it could lead to addiction. If someone is addicted to social media and they use it all the time, it could lead to lack of sleep. Third, someone could just leak private things about themselves on social media such as where they live and how old they are and a random person could just find them and take them away. Lastly, there are gross and bad things on the internet such as violence and harassment, and it is not good for little kids because it could change their behavior and lead them into crime related things. As I explained in the two paragraphs, social media could be both good and bad. You just have to be careful about what you do online.
